IP Camera Install With NVR Recorder
IP cameras are a popular type of security camera. They come in many different types and styles of dome cameras, bullet cameras, pinhole and spy cameras. We also have PTZ IP cameras. The nice thing about IP is that it has a variety of resolutions from basic analog resolutions to very high megapixel resolutions. At this time IP cameras are the only security camera technology where you can get resolutions over 1080p or 2 megapixel. For very large security camera system builds, IP cameras are the way to go.
IP Cameras are also easy to implement onto an existing network. If you want to have a camera monitoring your front lobby or front door you can install one camera and plug it into your router or they even have wireless ip cameras that will connect to your wireless router over your wi-fi connection.
Where analog has difficulty producing a recognizable face or reading a license plate from a distance HD IP cameras produce a much higher resolution image which makes identification much easier.
Multi Building IP Camera Installations
IP cameras are well suited for installations where there are multiple building on a site or even multiple sites across a city or other larger area. IP cameras can be installed at multiple buildings and locations and then all tied together onto one main NVR recording system.
Do you have buildings that are all located within proximity like a college or university campus and you would like the camera system to be linked together onto the same system. We can Utilize existing network infrastructure between the buildings or we can install a separate network between the buildings using a wireless network bridge.
Once all buildings are linked we can install multiple IP cameras on each building to give greater coverage around the property. This can be done on large scale sites and smaller sites where they may only have two buildings to link together.

IP Camera Resolutions
The most popular IP cameras broadcast at resolutions of 720p (1.0 megapixel or 1280X720) and 1080p (2.0 megapixel or 1920X1080). The resolution quality is very good with IP cameras especially when using cameras at 3.0 megapixel or higher
Infrared IP Cameras
Infrared is the way cameras light up an area to see at night or under low light conditions. Humans and most animals cannot see the infrared light. On the camera monitor screen it looks like the area is lit up with a spotlight. The more infrared LED’s the security camera has the better the night vision. There are different strengths of infrared LED’s. The larger and stronger the LED the farther and larger an area can be lit up. Basic CCTV bullet cameras will illuminate up to 20m. Some higher end infrared security cameras can light up farther than 90m. There are new PTZ cameras with infrared that can zoom in and see over 100m away.
Bullet cameras generally have better infrared night vision than dome cameras. This is because more IR’s can be placed around the lens on a bullet camera than can be placed around the lens on a dome camera.

Day/Night IP Cameras
Most IP security cameras are day/night cameras so they are color by day and black and white at night. Under low light conditions the infrared LED’s illuminate and the camera will switch to black and white night mode for better night time resolution.
IP Security Camera Lens types
The lens on an IP security camera can come in different focal lengths. Wide angle lenses are the most popular. They come in 3.6mm or 4mm lens types. If you want a more zoomed in view the lens can come in 6mm, 8mm 12mm or even longer zoom lengths. You can also get what is called a varifocal lens camera. This is a lens that can be manually adjusted at the camera. A popular varifocal lens is 2.8mm to 12mm. At the time of installation you adjust and focus the camera for the view that you like. There are also motorized zoom cameras that can be controlled from the DVR. The most popular are pan tilt zoom cameras. This way you can not only zoom and focus the lens but you can move the camera position.
